Solidarity contribution of the machine industry (MEM)

Please note: The solidarity card is only handed out to the employees who are subject to the collective employment agreement of the MEM industry.

You pay a monthly solidarity contribution of 5 CHF. This sum is directly deducted from your salary (as regulated in the collective employment agreement in § 4).

At the beginning of the year you receive your solidarity card which discloses the total of the solidarity contributions of the former year.

If you are a member of an employees association in your company, your employee representation will collect your solidarity card or request it from HR.

Please exclusively use the original document (blue background color) which you receive from your employer. Photocopies are not valid.

What benefit do I have from the solidarity card?

If you hand in your solidarity card you benefit from a refund and a contribution to your member fee. At the same time you boost Employees Switzerland. This is important. The organization receiving the most solidarity cards is the most powerful partner of the collective employment agreement. And has thus the best position in the negotiation process of this agreement.
