Collective Employment Agreement

Optimal working conditions
In Switzerland, the employment of about one million people is improved to do Collective Employment Agreements. They contain better working conditions that go further than provided by the law or individual employment contracts. The regulations of the Collective Employment Agreements are obligatory for the employer. These regulations are compulsory and can only be amended to the benefit of the employee.

Strong Participation
Collective Employment Agreements promote participation. The cooperation between the management and the representatives is defined. Representatives are legitimized to negotiate with the management for all the company’s employees.

Social Peace
Collective Employment Agreements strengthen social peace. They define the conflict resolution procedure. Conflicts should not be solved by strike but by previously agreed-upon procedures, reinforcing peaceful labour relations and economic prosperity in Switzerland.

Employees Switzerland is a strong social partner and an important party to several agreements. We are a social partner in the metal industry (Swissmem) as well as in the temporary employment business. The Employees benefit from the Collective Employment Agreements as a result of our involvement.
