MEM Bridging Program will be discontinued

The offer has not met with the expected success on the job market.

The MEM-Passerelle 2020 was founded with the aim of offering professionals new prospects and at the same time addressing the shortage of skilled labour in the tech industry. It was supported by the social partners of the machinery, electrical and metal industry: Swissmem/ASM, Angestellte Schweiz, Unia, Syna and the Swiss Association of Commercial Employees.

The basic idea was to facilitate the lateral entry of experienced specialists into companies in the tech sector through individual qualification measures. Despite considerable and systematic efforts and constant improvements to the concept, however, the MEM-Passerelle 4.0 AG offer did not meet with the expected response on the labour market. For this reason, an extraordinary general meeting was held in summer 2025 to decide to dissolve the company. All training programmes have already been terminated.

Angestellte Schweiz regrets this step, but will continue to invest heavily in the training and further education of employees in the tech industry.

Focus on continuing education

Angestellte Schweiz is convinced that further training and upskilling are not only an investment in the future viability of companies, but also in the personal and professional development of employees. With a broad and up-to-date range of courses, Angestellte Schweiz offers its members access to strategically important skills in order to remain relevant on the labour market.
