Change of Leadership at Angestellte Schweiz
After 18 years at the helm of Angestellte Schweiz, Stefan Studer will retire this autumn. His succession has been settled: Pierre Derivaz takes over as Chief Executive. The 37-year-old lawyer from Valais brings solid expertise to the role and has been with Angestellte Schweiz since 2017.
Continuity and a fresh chapter: Pierre Derivaz
Pierre Derivaz brings extensive experience in social partnership. He studied international relations and law in Geneva, Vienna and Basel, and obtained his licence to practise law in the canton of Bern. His knowledge of the organisation stretches well beyond legal advice: he is in regular dialogue with the business community and has repeatedly engaged publicly on topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability and mental health, consistently putting forward the perspective of employees.
Alexander Bélaz, President of Angestellte Schweiz, congratulates Pierre Derivaz: 'We received an exceptionally strong field of applications. Pierre Derivaz stood out through his competence and strategic acumen. He knows our organisation inside out and brings the vision needed to tackle tomorrow's challenges — artificial intelligence, geopolitical tensions and our role as a trusted social partner.'
In a working world that is changing at pace, employees are increasingly seeking guidance, support and protection. At the same time, concerns about purchasing power and retirement provision are growing. Pierre Derivaz sees this as a clear mandate for a modern employee organisation — and he sets out his ambitions plainly: 'I am delighted to be starting my new role on 1 August. In times of upheaval, employees need an organisation that genuinely helps them navigate the world of work ahead. That has always been the strength of Angestellte Schweiz, and that is precisely where I want to build: close to our members, forward-thinking, and with services that make a real difference.'
18 years of vision: the organisation thanks Stefan Studer
The board also wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Stefan Studer for his many years of service as Chief Executive of Angestellte Schweiz. Over 18 years, he guided the organisation with care, innovation and enormous personal commitment, transforming it from a traditional employee association into a modern, agile and highly regarded centre of expertise. He recognised early on which issues would shape the working world of tomorrow, and ensured that artificial intelligence, flexible working and sustainability became integral to the organisation's strategy, services, processes and culture.
'An organisation does not develop on its own — it needs people with vision, courage and staying power. Stefan Studer embodied these qualities in remarkable fashion over many years. With great dedication and a keen sense for the challenges facing the working world, he has left a lasting mark on Angestellte Schweiz and shaped it with the future firmly in mind. He has my heartfelt thanks for that. I wish him all the very best for this new chapter in his life', says Alexander Bélaz.
