What Is a Solidarity Contribution?

A solidarity contribution is a monetary contribution made by employees to solidarily finance the social partnership of a collective employment agreement (CEA).

For example, anyone who is subject to the CEA of the machinery, electrical and metal industry pays a monthly contribution of 5 francs. This is deducted directly from their salary.

The solidarity contribution is used, among other things, to finance benefits for the companies and their CEA employees. For example, further training or projects. Another part of the contribution covers the costs incurred by the contracting parties in implementing the CEA.
